Brain zap breathing study pulled before it began
NCT ID NCT05381688
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study was designed to see if deep brain stimulation (DBS) of a brain area called VIM changes how people with essential or dystonic tremor breathe. Researchers planned to test breath-holding and peak airflow in a small group of patients before and after DBS surgery. However, the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled, so no results are available.
