Weight lifting boosts heart rehab for women, new study finds

Summary

This study looks at whether adding resistance training (like squats and pulling exercises with weights) to standard cycling workouts helps women with coronary artery disease improve their fitness and muscle mass more than cycling alone. About 50 women will take part in a 12-week cardiac rehab program, doing either cycling only or cycling plus weight training. Researchers will measure changes in aerobic capacity, muscle mass, and strength to see which approach works best.
