First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special monitoring system (electrocochleography) used during cochlear implant surgery can help save some natural hearing. About 40 adults with severe hearing loss in both ears will be randomly assigned to receive the monitoring or standard care. The goal is to see if the system helps preserve low-frequency hearing over two years.
