Engineered immune cells aim to tame muscle weakness in rare disease

NCT ID NCT06359041

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests a one-time treatment using a patient's own immune cells (CABA-201) to target and reduce harmful antibodies that cause muscle weakness in generalized myasthenia gravis. About 12 adults aged 18-70 with moderate to severe symptoms will receive the therapy and be monitored for side effects and symptom improvement. The goal is to control the disease, not cure it, as ongoing management may still be needed.
