New gel and blood glue show promise for stubborn, smelly wounds

NCT ID NCT05983302

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether a repairing gel (Supraz) combined with a platelet-rich plasma-fibrin glue can eliminate odor and help heal chronic wounds that haven't improved with standard care. About 40 adults with a single wound lasting at least 3 months will receive either the gel/glue treatment or standard wound care. The main goals are to reduce wound odor, pain, and size, and to improve healing and quality of life over 2 months.
