Summary
This study tested if taking out the feeding tube right after the breathing tube is removed helps ICU patients start eating by mouth sooner. 112 adults who had a breathing tube for more than 48 hours took part. The goal was to see if this simple step reduces swallowing problems and speeds up recovery.
