NCT ID NCT06931535
First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests a simple, non-invasive treatment called remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) for people who have had a moderate stroke in the back part of the brain. RIC involves briefly inflating a blood pressure cuff on the arm to trigger the body's natural protective responses. The goal is to see if this treatment, started within 48 hours of the stroke, improves recovery and reduces disability at 90 days. The study will enroll 960 adults and compares RIC plus standard care to standard care alone.
