Can simple stretching and breathing ease the strain of cancer treatment?
NCT ID NCT01202851
Summary
This study aims to see if two different relaxation programs, involving stretching and breathing techniques, can improve the physical and emotional well-being of women undergoing radiation therapy for breast cancer. About 700 participants were randomly assigned to either try one of the programs, try the other, or not participate in a program for comparison. Researchers measured quality of life, sleep, stress, and heart activity over a year to see if the relaxation practices helped.
