Can simple stretching and breathing ease the strain of cancer treatment?

NCT ID NCT01202851

Summary

This study aims to see if two different relaxation programs, involving stretching and breathing exercises, can help improve the physical and emotional well-being of women with breast cancer while they are receiving radiation therapy. About 700 participants are randomly assigned to either try one of the programs or to a comparison group that does not participate. Researchers measure quality of life, sleep, stress, and heart activity over a year to see if the relaxation techniques make a meaningful difference.
