First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at whether genetic testing can help veterans with high cholesterol understand their heart disease risk and feel more comfortable taking statin medications. About 410 veterans aged 40-75 who are not currently on statins will receive genetic test results showing their personal benefits and risks. The goal is to improve statin use and lower cholesterol levels over 15 months.
