Shocking falls away: electrical zaps to hips help veterans stay steady

NCT ID NCT04969094

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a gentle electrical stimulation to hip muscles during exercise can help older veterans at risk of falls improve their balance and strength. About 81 participants will do a strengthening and balance program with or without the stimulation. The goal is to see if this approach reduces fall risk better than exercise alone.
