First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looks at whether carefully stopping certain medications (called anticholinergics) can help prevent dementia in older adults. Researchers are following 344 people aged 65 and older who take these drugs, comparing those who get a deprescribing plan with those who receive usual care. The goal is to see if reducing these medications improves thinking, memory, and quality of life over two years.
