First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests whether two medicines—N-acetyl cysteine (a supplement) and dexamethasone (a steroid)—can reduce shortness of breath after radiation therapy for lung cancer in people who also have interstitial lung disease. About 98 participants will receive one or both drugs or placebos during and shortly after radiation. The goal is to see if these treatments can prevent or lessen breathing problems without affecting cancer treatment.
