Red light hope for kids facing radiation burns

NCT ID NCT07183267

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests whether daily red light therapy (photobiomodulation) can reduce painful skin and mouth sores caused by radiation treatment in children aged 0-16. About 248 kids receiving proton or photon therapy (except brain-only) will get red light alongside their daily radiation. Researchers will compare their side effects to similar past patients to see if the light helps.
