New monitoring method cuts low blood sugar time in tiny babies
NCT ID NCT01942239
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at 48 very low birth weight newborns to see if using a continuous glucose monitor (a small sensor that checks sugar levels all the time) could better manage low blood sugar compared to standard finger-prick tests. The goal was to reduce how often and how long these babies had low blood sugar. The monitor helped doctors catch and treat low sugar episodes faster.
