First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests a surgery called radical fimbriectomy for women with BRCA mutations who are at high risk for pelvic cancer but want to avoid removing their ovaries. The surgery removes only the fallopian tubes, where many of these cancers start, while keeping the ovaries working naturally. The goal is to prevent cancer while avoiding early menopause. The study includes 123 women aged 35 or older who have completed childbearing.
