Radiation boost before surgery: new hope for mesothelioma patients
NCT ID NCT04028570
Summary
This study aims to find the safest and most effective radiation dose to give mesothelioma patients before they undergo major surgery. Researchers are testing different radiation levels combined with an experimental 'boost' radiation to target tumor masses, followed by extensive surgery about 1-2 weeks later. The trial involves 15 patients with early-stage mesothelioma who are healthy enough for this aggressive treatment approach.
