New radiation method aims to improve sarcoma surgery outcomes

Summary

This study tests a new, faster radiation treatment using protons or carbon ions before surgery for a rare type of cancer called retroperitoneal soft tissue sarcoma. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and practical. About 64 adults whose tumors can be surgically removed will participate.
