Targeted radiation tested to ease agony of advanced pancreatic cancer
NCT ID NCT05114213
Summary
This study tested whether adding a precise form of radiation therapy to standard chemotherapy could better control pain in people with advanced pancreatic cancer that has spread. Participants whose cancer was stable after initial chemo were randomly assigned to either continue chemo alone or to receive the radiation treatment between chemo cycles. The goal was to see if this approach reduced pain and improved quality of life for patients with this difficult-to-treat cancer.
