Survey order may skew symptom reports in scleroderma patients

NCT ID NCT06772896

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at whether people with scleroderma answer physical symptom questions differently depending on whether they know they are taking a depression survey. Over 850 participants were randomly assigned to answer the PHQ-8 depression questionnaire either in its usual order or with the physical symptom questions moved to the front. The goal was to see if the context of the survey affects how they report symptoms like sleep problems, fatigue, and appetite changes.
