NCT ID NCT07371273

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests a new surgical technique called Q-ISR that tailors the removal of rectal cancer based on where the tumor is located. It involves 100 adults with ultra-low rectal cancer who will be randomly assigned to receive Q-ISR, a partial removal, or a total removal of the anal sphincter. The goal is to see if the new approach can better preserve bowel function while still effectively removing the cancer.
