New pulse device aims to quiet the Heart's electrical storm

Summary

This study is testing a new device that uses short bursts of energy (pulsed field ablation) to treat atrial fibrillation, a common heart rhythm problem. About 175 people with a history of AF will receive the procedure to see if it is safe and works well. The device maps the heart and delivers targeted energy to correct the faulty signals.
