First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study tested a procedure called pulmonary artery denervation (PADN) for people with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a serious lung condition that makes it hard to breathe. 128 adults received either the real procedure or a sham (fake) operation. The main goal was to see if PADN could improve how far they could walk in 6 minutes and lower blood pressure in the lungs. The approach involves using a catheter to disrupt certain nerves in the lung arteries.
