Scientists hunt for skin clues in psoriasis and eczema study

NCT ID NCT01538342

First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looked at skin samples from 170 people with psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), or healthy skin to understand how a protein called Lyn is involved in inflammation. Researchers measured Lyn activity and related enzymes in both affected and unaffected skin. The goal was to see if changes in Lyn are specific to psoriasis or common to skin inflammation, which could lead to new markers for diagnosis.
