First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looks at how a single dose of psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, might change brain structure and activity in healthy older adults. Forty volunteers aged 60 to 85 will receive a dose ranging from micro to moderate-high and undergo MRI scans. The goal is to understand brain plasticity and emotional well-being, not to treat any disease.
