Summary
This early study tested whether combining psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) with cognitive behavioral therapy is safe and helpful for people with major depression. Sixteen adults received two doses of psilocybin along with 12 therapy sessions. The goal was to see if people would accept the treatment and if it could reduce depressive symptoms.
