New study aims to cut radiation side effects for sarcoma patients

Summary
This study tests whether giving a shorter course of radiation (3 weeks instead of longer) before surgery for soft tissue sarcoma can reduce long-term side effects. Each patient's treatment is personalized by choosing between proton or standard X-ray radiation. The study will enroll 110 adults in Norway and track surgical complications, cancer recurrence, and quality of life.
