Precision proton beams target prostate cancer with fewer side effects

Summary
This study is testing whether proton radiation therapy can treat high-risk prostate cancer that has spread to lymph nodes while causing fewer digestive and urinary side effects than traditional radiation. Proton therapy uses precisely targeted beams that deposit most of their energy at the tumor, potentially sparing more healthy tissue. The trial will enroll 30 patients to compare side effects and treatment feasibility against historical data from standard radiation treatments.
