Precision proton beams target brain tumors, aim to spare healthy tissue
NCT ID NCT01358058
Summary
This study is testing a more precise type of radiation called proton therapy for adults with certain slow-growing brain tumors. The goal is to see if it can control tumor growth as well as standard radiation while causing fewer side effects by limiting radiation exposure to healthy brain tissue. Participants receive daily proton treatments for about 6 weeks and are followed for up to 7 years to monitor tumor progression and long-term effects.
