Finding the perfect stiffness: study aims to optimize prosthetic feet for amputees
NCT ID NCT07263945
Summary
This study aims to understand how the stiffness of a prosthetic foot affects people with below-knee amputations. Researchers will compare two groups—those using a bone-anchored prosthetic limb and those using a standard socket prosthesis—as they walk with feet of different stiffness levels. The goal is to learn how foot stiffness impacts walking mechanics, balance, pain, and the stress on the bone and implant, to help find the best fit for future patients.
