New imaging study aims to improve detection of prostate cancer return after focal therapy

NCT ID NCT07184970

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special type of scan (PSMA PET/MRI) is better than a standard MRI at finding prostate cancer that comes back after a treatment called High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU). About 60 men who have had HIFU for localized prostate cancer will get both scans one year later. The results will help doctors know which imaging method works best for follow-up.
