New imaging method may better spot prostate cancer return after focal therapy

NCT ID NCT07184970

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study aims to see if a special type of scan (PSMA PET/MRI) is better than a standard MRI at finding prostate cancer that comes back after a focused ultrasound treatment called HIFU. About 60 men with localized prostate cancer will get both scans one year after HIFU, and the results will be compared to a biopsy. The goal is to improve how doctors detect recurrence, not to test a new treatment.
