New imaging study aims to improve detection of prostate cancer recurrence

NCT ID NCT07184970

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special type of scan (PSMA PET/MRI) is better than a standard MRI at finding prostate cancer that has come back one year after a focused ultrasound treatment called HIFU. About 60 men who have already had HIFU for their prostate cancer will get both scans and a biopsy to check for any remaining cancer. The goal is to see if the newer scan can spot problems that the standard MRI might miss.
