New Light-and-Sound needle could spot prostate cancer without cutting

Summary

This study is testing a special needle that uses light and sound waves to examine prostate tissue during a standard biopsy procedure. The goal is to see if this tool can reliably detect differences between healthy tissue and cancer without having to remove tissue samples first. The study will involve 50 men already scheduled for prostate biopsies as part of their regular medical care.
