Summary
This study tested a program called 'Sit Down and Play' for parents of young children in low-income families. The program was delivered during regular doctor visits for children aged 2 to 24 months. Researchers measured whether it improved parent-child interactions and parents' knowledge about talking and playing with their child. The study involved 60 families and compared the program to a simple safety handout.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a low-cost way to support early child development in primary care settings.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study with only 60 participants, so results may not apply to all families. The intervention is brief and may not produce lasting changes.
