First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a genetic test can better identify which men ages 55-69 are at high risk for serious prostate cancer and which men are at low risk. Current screening methods often lead to unnecessary biopsies for men who don't need them. The study will enroll 5,000 Veterans to see if the genetic approach reduces unnecessary procedures while catching dangerous cancers early.
