Genetic test could spare thousands of veterans from unnecessary prostate biopsies

Summary

This study is testing whether a genetic test can help doctors better screen men for prostate cancer. Current screening methods often lead to false alarms and unnecessary biopsies. The trial will enroll 5,000 male Veterans aged 55-69 to see if genetic risk information can identify who needs further testing and who can safely avoid it.
