First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study aims to create a score that helps doctors identify which patients with metastatic breast cancer are likely to live longer with a third line of chemotherapy. Researchers will collect clinical, histological, and biological data from 267 women starting third-line treatment. The score will be tested in a second group of patients to see if it reliably predicts survival.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors identify which patients with metastatic breast cancer are most likely to benefit from a third round of chemotherapy, avoiding unnecessary treatment for others.
What could go wrong
This is an observational tool, not a treatment. The score needs validation and may not improve survival or quality of life directly. Results may not apply to all patients.
Conditions
