Summary

This study tests whether taking a probiotic called Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) for 6 months can help people with alcohol use disorder reduce heavy drinking and improve liver health. Researchers will compare the probiotic to a placebo in 60 adults who drink heavily. The goal is to see if the probiotic can lower cravings, reduce drinking, and decrease liver injury.
