This study tested a school program to help middle school students in Southeast Alaska learn how to avoid paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP). About 50 students took part in lessons that combined cultural practices, science, and safety tips. The goal was to change their behaviors and intentions around clam harvesting to reduce the risk of exposure to harmful toxins.
