NCT ID NCT00446953

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looked at 200 pregnant women who needed a planned C-section. One group had the C-section at 38 weeks after receiving two steroid shots to help the baby's lungs. The other group had the C-section at 39 weeks without steroids. The goal was to see if the earlier, steroid-assisted C-section could prevent emergency C-sections (due to early labor) without increasing the baby's risk of breathing problems.
