NCT ID NCT00446953

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looked at 200 pregnant women who needed a planned C-section. Half had the surgery at 38 weeks after receiving steroids to help the baby's lungs, and the other half had it at 39 weeks without steroids. The goal was to see if the earlier timing could prevent emergency C-sections due to early labor, without raising the risk of breathing problems in newborns.
