CHEMO SIDE EFFECT BLOCKED? NEW TRIAL TESTS NERVE-SAVING DRUGS

NCT ID NCT07504198

First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests whether memantine (an Alzheimer's drug) and rosuvastatin (a cholesterol drug) can prevent nerve damage caused by the chemotherapy drug oxaliplatin in people with colorectal cancer. About 46 adults will receive these drugs alongside their cancer treatment. The goal is to reduce painful numbness and tingling in the hands and feet, a common side effect that can limit chemotherapy.
