First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the type of breathing mask or prong used for premature babies can prevent painful sores on their noses. About 75 preterm infants receiving breathing support in the NICU will be randomly assigned to one of three interfaces. Their nasal skin will be checked every 12 hours for 4 days to see which method causes the fewest injuries.
