NCT ID NCT07576543
First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving older adults (65-90) a combination of two drugs (dexmedetomidine and esketamine) along with a gentle brain stimulation technique (tDCS) before non-cardiac surgery can prevent long-term memory and thinking problems. About 1160 participants with mild cognitive issues will be followed for 3 months to see if their brain function stays stable. The goal is to find a way to protect the aging brain from the stress of surgery.
