First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding mild electrical stimulation to standard wound care helps heal stage 1 or 2 pressure ulcers (bedsores) on the lower back or tailbone. About 1,100 hospitalized adults will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care alone or standard care plus the electrical device. The goal is to see if the electrical pulses speed up healing and prevent the sores from getting worse.
