First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding gentle electrical stimulation to standard wound care helps heal stage 1 or 2 bedsores on the lower back or tailbone. About 1,100 hospitalized adults will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care alone or standard care plus a special electrical stimulation pad. The goal is to see if the stimulation speeds healing and prevents the sores from getting worse.
