New program aims to better prepare seniors for major operations

Summary
This study tests whether a new process can help more older adults get a special health check-up before major surgery. The check-up, called a geriatric assessment, looks at overall health to help plan care. Researchers will compare how many people use the new process versus past practice. About 42 patients aged 80 and older, along with their doctors, will take part.
