Dialysis before surgery: does timing matter? new study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT07339202

First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This pilot study looks at whether giving dialysis on the same day as surgery is better than not giving it for people with end-stage kidney disease. About 30 participants will be randomly assigned to one of two schedules. Researchers will track safety issues like electrolyte problems or extra dialysis needs, and see if this type of study is practical to run on a larger scale.
