Pre-Surgery workout may boost knee replacement outcomes
NCT ID NCT06290336
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether doing supervised exercise and learning about your knee before total knee replacement surgery leads to better recovery, less joint awareness, and higher satisfaction one year later. About 110 adults with knee osteoarthritis awaiting surgery will be randomly assigned to either standard care or a prehabilitation program with two weekly sessions for at least eight weeks. The goal is to see if preparing the body and mind before surgery makes a real difference in how patients feel and function afterward.
