Massive trial aims to predict and prevent dangerous pregnancy complication
NCT ID NCT05521776
First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether screening pregnant women early (at 11-14 weeks) for preeclampsia risk can reduce severe health problems for mothers and babies. About 14,500 first-time or low-risk pregnant women will be randomly assigned to receive either the new screening or standard care. The goal is to see if early detection and prevention can lower rates of preterm birth, low birth weight, and other serious complications.
